My Favourite Links

I was born in England in the 60's. Both my sister and I were lucky enough to have a mother who made beautiful clothes for our dolls and had a seemingly never-ending supply of odds and bits for us to use in creating our 'houses' and games. My grandfather would disappear off into his workshop only to reappear hours later with a wardrobe that he had lovingly put together with tiny drawers or a dining table and chairs so that our 'ladies' could have lunch! Whether our dolls were of paper, pegs, or plastic, we would spend hours inventing scenes and situations.

In my early twenties I came to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands and soon fell in love with the black volcanic landscape, the white beaches and the peaceful atmosphere. The year that I had planned to stay soon turned into three and I was to fall in love again...

My husband's family are from a tiny village in the middle of the island and they welcomed me into their family at a time when very few 'foreigners' were settling here. We have three wonderful children under 10 which makes life fun, if a little hectic at times.

Living on a small island makes me appreciate more than ever the benefits of the internet world and, even more so, the friendly and fascinating world of miniatures. When I started decorating and furnishing my own dollshouse I had no idea that it would lead to the creation of 'Miss Amelia' and I am extremely grateful to all the friends and customers who have supported me and made it possible for me to continue to develop my skills and imagination.

I hope to be able to tempt you with many more new ideas in the future

Fond regards

Janine
